The production of electronic waste worldwide is becoming an increasingly significant issue. Despite advances in recycling technologies, the amount of e-waste generated surpasses processing capabilities. In 2022, 62 million tons of e-waste were produced, with an expected increase to 82 million tons by 2030. Recycling is not keeping pace with production rates, highlighting the need for intensified efforts in this area. For instance, the recycling rate in Europe is 42.8%, while in Africa, it is only 0.7%.
